3 Simple Things That I Do To Motivate Myself To Keep Going For My Dreams
If you are anything like me, you have those days where you just can’t seem to get inspired or motivate yourself to do anything! Let alone take action toward your goals and dreams. But you still want to do something! You have that drive in you, even tho you don’t feel motivated, to still take some kind of action so that you can at least have a semi-productive day! It’s ok to have down days.
I do want to make that perfectly clear. You are not going to be “up” all the time and full of energy. And that is ok. Because we are human we live with a roller coaster of emotions that either has us vibrating high, medium or low. And it’s perfectly normal to feel these emotions. Don’t worry about it unless you are leaning toward the low side more often than what you think is normal.
A little backstory that inspired this post
When I first woke up this morning I was feeling so good and ready to get my creative juices flowing so that I could write out a blog post. I decided to get some stuff done and get my shower over with before sitting at the computer for hours on end.
But then something happened. After I got out of the shower, I started feeling rather “blah.” And I was like, what just happened? Not more than 30 mins ago, I was feeling great and ready to get some work done! And then bam, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah comes along.
I was not having it!!
I decided that my day wasn’t gonna go down like that! (Notice that the word decided is in italics, I did that for a reason! Because you are in charge of how you think & feel! Anyways, back to my story 😉 I have one day before I have to go back to work and this is really the only time I have for me to work on my blog. And since my dream is to become a full-time blogger, then I need to work on it as much as I possibly can so that I will get to my goal faster!
It really doesn’t matter what your dream is. You can take these 3 things and make them your own!
These are the 3 simple things that I do that help me to get inspired and motivated to start taking action right now to get me closer to my dreams!
- Read or listen to inspiring blog posts or podcasts, Google quotes, or anything that will set off a sense of inspiration in me!
- Dance around the house, jump up and down, anything to get my body moving! This will increase your blood flow and will change your mood! It will make you want to DO SOMETHING!
- I quickly look back thru my Law of Attraction Planner that I use every day. Why do I do this? Because in my planner, I jot down ANY & EVERY time that I have a win! (This can be getting a new subscriber, a comment on a blog post, a like on a video, etc)
And this is what MOTIVATES me to keep moving forward. To start taking action of any kind to help propel me toward my goals! So, let’s break down each section so that it will help you more in-depth, shall we?
Read or Listen To Something That Inspires Me
I can’t tell you how many bloggers that I follow that inspire me! There are too many to list. So I will give you a few and you can go check them out if you want to.
The first one on my list is one that I have mentioned before and that is Kathrin Zenkina of Manifestation Babe
I have learned so much thru her. I first found her on Facebook. I joined her Facebook group before she exploded into the big success that she is online now. And I am grateful that I did because I got to see first hand her manifesting journey! If you would like to join her group, just click the link Manifestation Babes Group and join.
You will be a part of over 40,000 women and yes, some men, who are learning and growing in their manifesting journey! She also has a podcast that I love to listen to on my way to work. This helps me to keep the positive vibe going thru-out my day! And it starts my work day off on a great note.
Number Two on my list is Sarah Prout of SarahProut.com
She was one of the first people that I learned the Law Of Attraction from. I bought her Ancient Manifesting Ritual for $9 (at the time, don’t know what the price is now, might be the same.) Because I was living in a scarcity mindset, $9 was as much as I was willing to spend at the time. But boy did that $9 pay off! I learned that I was living with a scarcity mindset. Before that, I didn’t even know there was such a thing. And that really helped me to see that I needed to make some changes to the way I thought about life. And so I did!
This is also where I learned about the 5×55 ritual that you can do to help you to manifest what you want. This is where you write down what you are wanting to manifest (like you already have it) 55 times for 5 days straight. You really should go check her out. She is a wealth of information when it comes to the Law of Attraction & Manifesting! She has all kinds of awesome products from courses, to memberships, to oracle cards. And she has a podcast!
Number Three on my list is Emma Mumford of EmmaMumford.co.uk
Emma is a rare jewel. She has the knowledge of an old soul but is actually quite young. But don’t let her youth fool you! She is very wise when it comes to the Law of Attraction and Manifesting. I used to follow her when she was the Coupon Queen. But then she did something awesome.
She had a spiritual awakening and transitioned her YouTube Channel to a spiritual channel. Now all she talks about is her spiritual journey. You can watch her awesome videos by clicking the link to her YouTube Channel She is a successful Life Coach and Law of Attraction Practioner now. Watching her grow has been a blessing to me! And she also has a podcast!
Get Up & Get Moving!
One fast trick that I have taught myself to get my energy up and flowing and to motivate myself is to just get my butt up!
I sit for long hours at a time when I am blogging. So moving around is a must to keep me from feeling drained.
I just hop up (when no one is watching me of course!! lol) throw on some music or YouTube and dance like a crazy person. If I don’t feel like dancing, then I will just do 10 quick jumping jacks as fast as I can.
This really does help change your mood. According to Harvard Health Publishing, your movement can impact your feelings! (check out the article for a more in-depth explanation of why doing those jumping jacks changes my mood from blah to ahh! lol)
When I’m at work, I’m on my feet most of the day.
But the thing about that is, I am at work for someone else and helping them to achieve their dream of success, not mine. So, of course, my whole heart isn’t into it.
But I have noticed that the more I move and the harder I work, the better I feel about myself.
So even if you aren’t at the point where you are making money off of your dream yet, like me!! (Hand in the air here) You can still find things about your job that make you feel good! And remember feeling good is one way to make your manifestations come to you! When you feel good about yourself and what you are doing, you will manifest what you want faster.
Writing Down My Small Wins & Looking Back At Them When I Need a Push To Get Me Going
I love my Law of Attraction Planner. I use it every single day. I write down everything that I am planning on doing plus things that have happened that day that I just need to take a note of. There is a section in my planner that has a place for me to write down my “victories.” This is where I write down any and all small wins, big wins or anything that is helping me to reach my goal.
Anytime I inspire someone else with my blog posts, that’s a win! A comment on a post- WIN! A new subscriber- WIN! You get the picture. So, I write those down in my planner. And when I am having a day like today was going, I look back on all my small wins! And I see how far I have come! And this builds momentum and really helps to motivate me to get back at it!!
You can do this for yourself too. Just have one place for it. And whenever you have a small win, write it down. Then from time to time look back over it. This will help push you thru the hard days!~ This is the most important thing that I have done for myself as far as keeping myself motivated to keep pushing myself toward my dream! And it is working!
How Can You Take This Information And Implement It Into Your Life?
This is the main thing that you need to realize. Reading and learning as much as you can is great. You are adding to your arsenal of skills when you are learning. But what you need to realize is that if you aren’t implementing any of the information that you are taking in, it isn’t doing you any good.
So take action on the information that you are consuming. If you are reading blog posts to learn something to help you grow as a person, do something with that information. Implement it into your life! Taking action is the key to moving toward your dream faster.
So, how can you take this information that I have just given you and do something with it in your life? No matter what your dream is, you can take these three things when you aren’t feeling inspired to go for your dreams and do them as easily as I can.
- Read books that will teach you the information that you need to help you get to your dream faster. Stay inspired by reading other people’s success stories that had the same dream that you do. Make them your online mentors! Follow what they do and learn how they do it.
- Get up and move! Move your body! Turn on some upbeat music and dance around the house. Do jumping jacks to get the adrenaline going! Turn the tv off. I don’t watch tv unless I am really tired and just want to chill. I never watch the news anymore. There is enough negativity in the world without me hearing about it first thing when I get up. I decide how my day is going to go by filling my mind with positive things!
- Make a place inside your planner or if you don’t own a planner, buy a notebook. And start writing down your small wins every single day. If you didn’t have at least one small win that day (that is toward your dream) then just start writing down what you are grateful for. When you do this, your vibration starts going up! And soon you will be motivated and have the energy that you want to have to get busy and take an action step toward your goals!

You can do this too! I know that sometimes it may seem your dream is farther away than what you want it to be. I feel that way too sometimes. But that is when I have to remind myself that this is a journey, not a destination. And that by taking action every single day will get me closer and closer to my dream.
The one thing you must NOT do and that is to quit! Do not give up on yourself or your dream. You have that dream in your heart and mind for a reason! Do not quit. You are closer today than you were yesterday! You just have to put in the time, work and effort that it takes to make your dream your reality!
