I don’t know about you but it’s been a crazy few weeks.
With the pandemic consuming the world right now, it’s been hard to focus on anything but that.
But I have been trying to keep an optimistic outlook on everything. And have been trying to focus on something that I can control & just get my mind right, ya know?
The post I wrote before this one is the post that made me decide to do a weekly challenge for anyone that wants to follow along with me. I might even stretch it out past a week.
What Are We Doing In The Weekly Challenge?
We are focusing on positive things.
- We are saying what we are grateful for. I like to call these “My Gratitudes” (kinda like the Beatitudes in the Bible)
- Power Affirmations- power affirmations are where you put “I Am” in front of your affirmation. We are speaking this over our life. Speaking it into existence.
- And we are setting a goal for the week & taking action on it. I created a journal w/prompts for you to help you take action. It’s free and you can find it by clicking this link: Journal W/Prompts For Action Taking!
The reason for the journal is so that you can gauge how you are doing. This will help you gain momentum and want to keep going on your goal.
What Are Some Goals You Can Set For Yourself This Week?
My goal for this week was to gain 50 subscribers to this blog or to my YouTube Channel.
Usually, I get around 1-2 new subscribers a day. But I noticed in my analytics that the number has decreased.
I don’t know if that’s because people are looking up information about the pandemic or what.
So, really I am just concentrating on doing whatever I can to get my blog out there. And am taking action doing different things.
What are you working on?
To me, now is a great time to learn a new skill. Teach a new skill to someone. Or just try to focus on something besides the crisis.
I am by no means trying to ignore it. BUT I do know that if I let myself spiral down into that checking the news every 5 mins mindset that it’s going to end up hurting me in the long run.
So I am keeping my mindset strong & my FAITH!
Why Is Setting Goals Important? And Especially Taking Action On Them?
Did you know that less than 3% of Americans have written goals? And less than 1% actually review them daily.
*This percentage is from BrianTracy.com
WOW! That is a really low number.
When you take the time to set goals:
- motivating yourself to achieve an end result
- being PROACTIVE in your life & not reactive. (which is important)
- means you are serious about the life you want to create
- you care enough about your own personal growth to take the time to set goals & review them
Some of the most successful people in the world got there by goal setting.
Writing them down. And reviewing them daily.
I don’t know about you, but I want an awesome life.
Success means different things to different people.
My image of success is FREEDOM. The freedom to do what I want when I want. And the ability to take care of my family & not to worry about finances. That is my definition of success.
Here’s a great article explaining why setting goals is important: 5 Powerful Reasons Why Goal Setting Is Important
What Can You Do Today To Get Started Setting Your Goals?
Focus. What is one thing that you want to accomplish, do or have?
Specific. Get specific. Make is something that you can actually gauge. Like I want to gain 50 new subscribers by next Wednesday. (which is a week) That is something that I can measure. And if my plan doesn’t work, instead of changing my goal, I can change my plan around & do something different..
Write Your Goals Down Every Day. And do something to take action on it. What do you need to do? Review them daily. What do you need to change?
Momentum. Celebrate any small wins that you have. That will give you the momentum to keep going. I always write down every time I get a new subscriber to my blog. And when I look back thru my planner and see that, it excites me to keep going & not give up!
Follow The Weekly Challenge. Participate. Be Proactive In Your Life By Setting Goals.
Every day of the challenge, I post a video.
In the video, you can go along with me by speaking out what you are grateful for that day.
Saying Power Affirmations over your life.
And setting a goal for yourself for this week/day or even month. Then we can hold each other accountable by telling what action we took for the day.
I am probably going to stretch this Challenge out because I started it mid-week.
And with everyone home on the weekend especially, it’s hard for me to make a video without a lot of noise in the background.
SOOO let’s stretch it out and do this for a while. And see what happens.
