Boy have I been where you are.. Not too long ago, I was feeling the exact same way.
I felt stuck. I felt like I was going to be struggling for the rest of my life just to make ends meet. Just to survive in life..
But my life has done a complete turnaround since then..
- I was living paycheck to paycheck.
- Overdrafting was normal for me.
- Working at minimum wage jobs.
You get the picture yet?
I was living low-income..
I had a belief that I was LOW-INCOME..
Do you know how shitty that feels? It feels pretty crappy..
But now I know that I just wasn’t valuing myself.
I had all these limiting beliefs that I told myself day in day out.
It was a story that I was telling myself that kept playing itself out in my physical reality.
How Did I Learn How To Change That?
Well, I had to hit rock bottom before I was brave enough to make any changes in my life. I think we get so comfortable in our comfort zones even when they keep us feeling stuck and just surviving.
I felt as long as I was “just barely making it” that I would keep putting off the fact that I needed to make some changes.
If you would like to read my About Page you can find the whole story there. But to summarize.
One day I went to try to overdraft my checking account so that I could get my prescription out of the RX.
(Yes, I know that is a bad thing to do, but like I said overdrafting my bank account was normal for me because I never had enough money left over to pay all my bills. So I would borrow off of my next paycheck and let them sock it to me at the bank.)
And BAM it wouldn’t let me draw out the money I needed.
After screaming, crying & beating my steering wheel with my fists.
I decided that enough was enough of this shit.
I had to do something. I had to make some changes in my life. I couldn’t live like this anymore.
(Just a month before this happened my bf of 6 years had died from a heart attack. I was the one that found him dead on our living room couch. We were living in a trailer park barely making it on his disability check & what little I made working as a caregiver at a nursing home. I was barely making a little over $8 bucks an hr.)
So, it was just me now. Trying to pay all the bills on one income. There was no way I could pay everything only making $8 bucks an hr.
So what happened?
I had to move back to mom’s house. Do you know how humiliating that was for me? And I was 42 years old for God’s sake!
And having to humble myself so that I wouldn’t be homeless, well I did it.
And that year of not having to worry about paying all the bills gave me the time that I needed to dive deep into personal development.
I researched anything and everything I could get my hands on to find something- anything that would help me get out of this struggling to survive mentality.
At the time I didn’t realize it was a mindset thing.
I just thought like my parents had always told me that
you have to work hard all your life to get by..
But you know what I found out?
That is the biggest piece of bs advice that anyone can give you..
It’s not about how hard you work.. It’s about how you see yourself. It’s about your freakin mindset. And the stories that you tell yourself every day.
If you are telling yourself that you have to struggle to get by; then you will have to struggle to get by
But if you’re telling yourself that you are abundant AF every day; then you will be abundant AF.
It’s not something that you are gonna be able to change overnight.
This took me:
- getting into the habit of saying what I am grateful for every single day.
- using positive affirmations
- using positive psychology on myself every single day.
- Learning how to use the LOA intentionally in my life.
- Learning how to manifest what I want.
It’s not something that you are going to see results from after just one day of doing it and then going back to the same old habits.
It’s a lifestyle and you are gonna have to put in some work.
By work I mean:
- lose those old stories that you are holding on to.
- Get rid of the old habits of talking down to yourself.
- And letting your inner critic rule your life.
But I know that if I can make changes in my life for the BETTER! Then you definitely can too!
I truly believe that we wake up at different times in our life. I woke up in my 40’s. Is it just a mid-life crisis? Or has society named it a mid-life crisis when it should be named a mid-life awakening??
Honestly, I believe that the times we are living in are freakin amazing!
Right now people as young as 21 years old are waking up and see that their life has meaning. And that they can live life to the fullest right now instead of waiting until they are 70 however old you have to be to retire!
That is such a good thing!
Because this life we are living is a freakin miracle y’all!
It’s time to get out of your comfort zone. Especially if that comfort zone is keeping you struggling to get by.
Step out in faith and let life happen for you not too you!

Am I where I want to be yet?
No, I’m not. And that is me being honest with you.
I have big dreams for this blog and for my life.
But I am still working at a 9-5 job just like most of you are.
And guess what? That’s ok.
Because changing your mindset to affect your reality takes going deep inside of yourself to bring out the higher version of yourself. And like I said, it’s not going to happen overnight. This is a lifestyle change. You are having to un-learn everything you have been taught up to this point in your life.
Ya know one thing I always ask myself is this:
Is what I have been doing helping my life or is it keeping me stuck in the same old story? And if it’s keeping you stuck then it’s time to make some changes.
So, What Are Some Things You Can Do RIGHT Now No Matter What Your Circumstances Are?
- You can decide that you want a better life.
- Believe & know that you are worthy of a better life.
- Realize that you are just settling. And learn to raise your standards of living.
- Learn to value yourself just as you are. Because you are AHH-MAZING!
- Realize that there is no-one like you on this Earth baby!
And take it step by step, day by day.
How do you do that?
Well, start like I did right where I was.
And that was to start researching as much personal development, self-help, motivational shit as you can get your hands on. Like This Blog. wink/wink 😉
Make GRATITUDE a daily habit. Write down what you are grateful for right now. Even if you feel you don’t have anything in this world to be grateful for, I know you do.
Start using positive affirmations. Start with the one I did which truly helped me.
Things Are Becoming Easier For Me.
And do this stuff daily!
Keep doing whatever you have to do to start changing your mindset and I promise you your circumstances and life will start to change. I know they did for me.
